As you leave Cortez and drive south to the Four Corners, you’ll see endless pumpkin-colored sandstone and rock formations, dotted with sagebrush, pinion, and juniper trees, beneath a stunning blue sky. While the fun of the Four Corners Monument is certainly unique, it’s the drive through the beautiful desert that makes this day trip truly a pleasure. Or why not try Ute tribal cuisine? Or plan to bring a picnic lunch – there are plenty of picnic tables available around the monument!
